TT (Tube Tire) represents a tire with inner tubes, which requires an internal bladder to support and is typically used in traditional motorcycle tires.
TL (TubeLess) stands for tubeless tires, also known as vacuum tires. These tires do not have internal air pockets and rely directly on the tight fit between the tire edge and the wheel hub to maintain air pressure. They are more common in modern motorcycles.
These two types of tires each have their own advantages and disadvantages:
Tires with inner tubes (TT) are relatively easy to replace and maintain, as the inner tube can be replaced separately. However, in the event of a leak, the entire tire needs to be replaced instead of just repairing the inner tube.
Tubeless tires (TL) can maintain a certain distance of travel when leaking, providing a certain safety buffer, but once damaged, the entire tire needs to be replaced, and the repair cost is high.
In addition, tubeless tires, due to the lack of inner tubes, reduce the number of failure points related to the internal air bladder, and therefore generally outperform tubeless tires in terms of service life and reliability. However, tubeless tires require high precision in the fit between the wheel hub and the tire edge, otherwise air leakage problems are prone to occur.
